Why adopt a shelter dog?

Shelter animals will bond quicker and deeper with their new familes.
Shelter animals seem to want to please as much as possible to make sure they are never homeless again.
Mixed breeds are generally healthier and have less genetic problems than purebreeds.
Shelter dogs are CHEAPER - sterilization and the first round of shots can easily cost $200. The adoption fee is only $90 and includes these services.
An average of 50 to 60 dogs and cats enter LRAS every week.
Many have been living on the streets,
but a surprising number are surrendered by their owners. There are far too few adoptions and rescues
and we are working hard to find them all homes one dog at a time.
Please consider adding a shelter animal to your family when you are looking for
a dog or cat - you truly will be making a difference in an animals life.
